Gratitude

Spiritual people talk about being grateful for small things and that sounds cliche to folks sometimes. "Yeah, yeah, I can see and hear...I can walk, I'm breathing, there's food in the cupboard.." The things that are so completely and fully part of our lives that we take them for granted are sometimes so ingrained that feeling gratitude for them is difficult.

It's especially hard to connect with the 'feeling' of gratitude for what we have if we have not experienced not having it. That's why people who have faced their mortality sometimes speak of how beautiful the world is or how wonderful it is simply to awaken to a new day.

It's helpful to imagine being without, just to gain appreciation for having all those things we take for granted - sight and hearing, air and food, loved ones. How different our lives could be!

November 15

What a great day - all grey and cloudy and drizzly. Super weather! Soon it will be snowy...not today, but soon. Better enjoy the warmer weather before autumn turns into cold winter!

Have you been keeping a gratitude journal? In them, you record those things you for which you want to say Thank You to Creator. They are very important for several reasons.

First, reminding yourself in this way of how much good is in your life - even if you are in a time of trial - is a good way to get through the tough times more easily and comfortably.

Second, saying thank you is just good manners. If it's polite to say thank you when someone picks up a pin for us, how much more appropriate is it for us to say thank you to Creator for every single thing in our lives?

Finally, if you are working on Law of Attraction, remaining in gratitude allows you to say in the happy joyful energy that draws what you want. What you think about, you attract, so thinking about what you are grateful for draws more of the things that inspire your gratitude.

Try it. It couldn't hurt!

November 14

Gosh, it's been a while.

It's no secret that I (Jean) am puter-stupid. Navigating the web is not an easy thing for me, lol. And so....I lost this blog! I couldn't find a way to get in to make a new entry, but finally, I was able to successfully get here. I've saved the steps I followed in a wordperf doc, so should be able to come in regularly.

So here I am...and expect to be in every week or more...particularly during the winter months when things are quieter.

My apologies to anyone who's been looking for entries...

The Computer Age...

I know computers were supposed toyy make things easier...but when a puter goes down, it's disastrous! My puter - with all my sign-ins and passwords - is down...and it has been really hard to remember old passwords and so on. But we're back in business!

So.

Yesterday was my birthday! Most years, I prefer not to mark the day. This year was different, though.

I guess it's because I was so very ill back before Christmas. I wasn't sure I'd still be around to see this birthday, actually, but here I am.

I'm still dealing with some issues, of course, but I'm here and better than I was by a loooong shot, and that's a gift. I don't think I've ever been so glad to see a birthday roll around and a new year begin.

I can't say it's always easy, but life is always a gift and I'm feeling blessed as can be these days.

Here's hoping that you're enjoying the blessings that fill your life, too.

Sunday

If you are like us, you've been watching the news with increasing shock and dismay. So many weather disturbances! So many displaced by floods and fires! So many natural disasters!

Rather than fret, though, we must stand in our power. We can pray, we can send angels to assist, and we can bless.

The act of blessing is extremely powerful. When two or more join in the act, that power increases exponentially. For that reason, then, when we come together to bless the world, good things happen.

What are we waiting for? Let's get busy blessing!

We are hosting a free-from-us thirty minute tele-gathering to bless the world next Monday, June 23 at 8 p.m. EST. There will be no cost to you other than your long distance plan.

RSVP is required to get the access code for the bridge line. More information can be found on the Blessing Brigade page at our website: www.theangelladies.com.

Join us - and let's bless the world together!

Giving thanks for the little things

There are those times in life when everything seems to be in turmoil. Maybe there is too much month and not enough money. Maybe there is a health challenge occupying your thinking. Perhaps the nightly news is overloading your senses and causing anxiety.

When we are in the midst of the whirlwind, it is hard to find any focal point. We are off balance and often feel out of control.

What helps when the world around you is spinning and it seems as though there is no safe place?

- Find an anchor. Talk to a trusted person, vent into your trusty journal, or do an activity that can ground you like listening to soothing music or going for a walk.
- Think about NOW and not the past or the future. The only moment you can control is this present moment. Look around you. See the room; the view out the window. Listen to the noises, voices and sounds that surround you. Put your hand on your heart and feel it. Tell yourself that in this moment all is well. And, you'll find calm washing over you.
- Count your blessings. Who loves you? Who are your dearest friends? What is the best thing in your life? Let your mind drift over all the good things in your life. Keep counting them until you feel better.

As you focus on the good things, equilibrium can return and you can see things in a more objective light.

As you feel more centred and calm, remind yourself again of the many times that wonderful things happened when you least expected them. Remember how happy you were. Re-experience the joy.

This is a place of great power. As you stay in joy and grounded connection, then offer some positive thoughts around the concerns you have. Ask the angels to assist for everyone's highest and good.

Then, let it go and enjoy your day. Joy is the place of miracle, the angels tell us. Be joyful.

Rebuttal

Rain gets a lot of bad press. None of it deserved. What is more comforting than the sound of rain drumming against the windows? What is more beautiful than a rainy evening?

Rain can transform a grimy city street into a work of art and turn strangers huddled in doorways into laughing comrades. Every home is a castle when you come in from the rain. And only the rain can coax life from dry parched soil.

So, there Rev. Deb. Guess I showed YOU! :)

Deb: ZZZZZzzzzzzz LOL
